On Wednesday 11th December, FoodCycle Bristol, a charity aimed at tackling food waste and food poverty, will be hosting an amazing fundraising Christmas themed Pop-Up Restaurant at Coexist (above The Canteen).
A delicious three course vegetarian meal will be provided, having been lovingly and creatively transformed from surplus food, collected from supermarkets and local shops. Kicking off the count-down to Christmas, our event will have great live music, cool art work and inspirational speakers.
Pop-up Restaurant Manager, Lizzie Van Zyl, says “As managers for the Pop-Up Restaurant we have a passion for spreading the FoodCycle message. It’s a great opportunity to create a lively atmosphere where local artists and musicians can showcase their work; people can get involved in cooking and just have a really fun evening!”
Proceeds will go towards supporting our main project of providing weekly meals at Easton Community Centre. Nell Benney is a Cooking Manager at the Easton Community Kitchen. She says, “Managing the kitchen at Easton is always completely unpredictable and exciting… and it’s always a great feeling when we fill about 40 bellies entirely from food that would have been wasted!”
Tickets cost £5 and are available from: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=foodcyclepopuprestaurant&isTeam=true
